I’m home from such a wonderful weekend with the

I’m home from such a wonderful weekend with the women of Mercy Pres Church! ❤️ (My sister, Liz, joined us!) I‘ll share more later about what we learned from the Word, but for now let this serve as a reminder that the body of Jesus among women is strong and beautiful. ❤️ (ps - men are great too! I just spent the weekend with women. 😂)

Now I’m certainly no Superman, but as Jesus followers we must hold both these statements true: I labor, by God’s power. It’s a both/and.. If we lean too far towards our labors, we become independent, burned out ministers of the gospel. If we lean too far away from our labors, we’re prone to lazy meanderings. I will probably wrestle with this tension until Jesus returns. (But given that God saw fit to give us an entire day out of rest every week for all of our lives, I’m thinking we lean too hard towards our labors.) So yes, labor, and rest. And mostly rely on God’s mighty power at work while you labor and rest.

And this is what I think every time I see Superman and Jesus side-by-side in my car.

I love waking up to a clean kitchen and a messy living room. Strange, right? But the messy living room, with cards strewn across the coffee table and blankets piled up right where we left them when we crept off to bed, stands like a still life painting of happy moments of belonging.

I’m so thankful God gave me this man and this family. He has been so good to me! ❤️
